The Ministry of Health and Health Infrastructure, through the National Nursing Directorate, has launched a training workshop in Bata on the development and updating of nursing protocols, as part of efforts aimed at strengthening the organization, quality, and safety of care in the country’s hospitals.

The initiative is part of the Urgent Hospital Improvement Plan promoted by the Ministry and also aligns with the priorities of the National Health Development Plan (PNDS) regarding governance and the development of human resources for health.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the Director General of Hospital Coordination, Crisólogo Mba Azeme, with the participation of the Government Delegate of Bata, the National Director of Nursing, a representative from MCD Global Health, and the participating professionals.

Over the course of seven days, the professionals will work on developing and updating protocols aimed at standardizing care, unifying treatment criteria, and strengthening patient safety. The goal is to provide practical tools that are adapted to the realities of healthcare facilities and applicable to the daily work of nursing staff.

The process will be rolled out gradually in the various provincial capitals and will conclude in Malabo in November.

Through this initiative, the Ministry is positioning the strengthening of nursing services as an essential component of hospital improvement, alongside efforts to improve infrastructure, equipment, service organization, and the capacity-building of healthcare personnel.
